hike on the path of St-Jacques with a donkey

First day (4:30)

Let's start the adventure !
By leaving the farm of Donkeys, the route leads you up to the foothills of Mont-Larron. It dominates the valley of Maulde of its dark and impressive silhouette... The still hamlets inspire peace : under the sun, the old granite houses seems to be asleep. After a last moment by the river, you join Saint-Julien-le-Petit.
This evening, you'll stay in the inn of the village.

Second day (4:15)

Today, you will cross woods and meadows where graze the famous cows limousines. If it tempts you, a small bathing in the lake of Martineix is completely possible. During this time, your donkey will relax in the fresh grass. In Augne, you can discover the tiny church Saint-Pierre. Finally, we wish you a beautiful stage at the Ranch des Lacs. Jules and Françoise, the owners of this charming place will know how to advise you ther specialities, in particular the famous Fondue Pelaude.

Third day (4:30 hours)

Between Augne and Eymoutiers, at the top of a hill, stand the ruins of a chapel: This is where legend places the tomb of the Chevalier de Farsac. It is also said that his ghost still roams the mysterious surrounding woods today. So be careful!

And if by chance no evil spirit prevents you from continuing on your way, you will soon arrive on the heights of Eymoutiers and in sight of the Vienne valley.

At the Maison des Cerisiers, Tim and Richard welcome you for the next 2 days. They will share with you their deep attachment to their adopted village.

Fourth day

You have free time to rest, stroll or discover all the riches of Eymoutiers, a small town of character and an important stopover on the way to Saint-Jacques in Limousin... The banks of Vienne are yours, the contemporary art museum , the swimming pool, the cozy little cafes or the delicious pastries from Chou Beurre Pomme!

Whatever your program, the St Etienne collegiate church remains a must, as does the house of the Master Tanner or the Pré Lanaud park.

Fifth day

(6 hours)

Today's step is simple to follow: look for the signs for the Chemin de St-Jacques en Limousin marked with the famous shell! You will be pleased to discover the hamlets along the route and then the large forest estates overlooking Peyrat-le-Château.

By the way, have you had the opportunity to discover this village? You have plenty of time to stop at Place de l'Eglise, in the garden of the Tour des Lusignan or at the edge of its medieval pond.

Finally, you reach the Donkey farm at the end of the afternoon. All good things come to an end (unless you extend your stay with an unusual night in a yurt?...)
