First day (5 hours)

When leaving the Ferme des Ânes, we recommend a first stop to discover the Moulin de l'Eau, shortly before crossing the village of Peyrat-le-Château.

Beyond, the adventure begins: the paths lined with low walls climb the hillside, revealing some views and, above all, immersing you in magnificent nature. You will thus reach Quenouille, a particularly picturesque hamlet and always very flowery. With a little luck, you will come face to face with the goats who maintain the surroundings: they are not shy and willingly come to seek a caress.

You then descend to Lake Vassivière where the bivouac awaits you (a large Saharan tent equipped with camp beds and can comfortably accommodate 5 people).

All you have to do is finish the day with a refreshing swim !

Second day (5:30 hours)

Return to the valley and the village of Peyrat via the famous Sentier des Poètes. Across the moor, this path is dotted with sculptures that pay homage to troubadours and other Limousin authors. Can you decipher their writings in granite?

At the top of the moor, from the orientation table, the horizon is punctuated by the chain of volcanoes and the view is truly superb.

Forest, grove, peat bog ... the typical landscapes of the Limousine mountain follow one another until the return to the farm.

To extend the stay ...

It is possible to bivouac an additional night in Vassivière to enjoy the lake: take the shoreline path with your donkey to the Tuquet peninsula or simply opt for a lazy day at the beach ... to choose !
